Released on March 6th, 2025 - The BFD3.5 update is a maintenance release focused on improving compatibility and usability.
It adds Apple Silicon AAX and VST3 support, a revamped user interface with a resizable design, and a new 'Mics' panel in the Kitpiece Inspector. Licensing is now handled entirely within the plugin, replacing the old License Manager with the inMusic Software Center.

Essential Information
BFD3.5 no longer uses the BFD License Manager application. Instead, all authorization and download functionality has been moved to the inMusic Software Center application, which can be downloaded at: www.bfddrums.com/downloads
Going forward, please do not attempt to use the BFD License Manager application.
Downloading BFD3.5
To download BFD3.5, use the inMusic Software Center application. Make sure you log in to your inMusic Profile through the application, and you will see all of your available software downloads in the ‘My Software’ tab. Expansion packs are located in the ‘My Expansions’ tab.

- All expansion packs have add various bug fixes and improvements to meta-data.
- Fixed any erroneous ‘-inf’ loudness measurements.
- Fixed unknown library tags.
- All drums should now have the correct class and sub-class descriptions.
- The above fixes only apply to the latest downloads of the expansion packs.

Known Issues
- BFD3.4 will not be able to be installed alongside BFD3.5.
- Existing projects will automatically detect BFD3.5.
- Older expansion packs may not work with BFD3.5, and in such cases we encourage you to upgrade to the latest versions of your expansion packs by downloading them from the inMusic Software Center.

- M1 Pro/M1 Max etc users may need to disable Multi-threaded synthesis and Multi-threaded mixer in Preferences>Engine to avoid BFD crackling in DAWs.
- Some 3rd party grooves will show as unauthorized, even though they work.
