While it's not expected for users to experience a Crash when installing BFD3 content, crashes may occur under the following conditions:
- The drive doesn't have enough space or storage to install the Core Library or Expansion content
- The installer is placed and run from a network drive
- The installer is placed and run from a drive with limited permissions
- Installation is attempted on a non-admin account
- Microsoft OneDrive synced with 'Documents' folder on Windows
- iCloud synced with 'Documents' folder on macOS
To prevent a crash from occurring during the installation of your BFD3 content, please check the items below:
- Close / Quit the BFD3 App & your DAW
- Ensure the installer is run from a local drive or an SSD connected directly to your computer over SATA, USB-C or Thunderbolt
- Don't run the installer from a Network drive
- Ensure the drive for installation has enough free space
- If installing content to an external drive, ensure that both read/write permissions are applied to the drive
- Install as an administrator
- Disable syncing Microsoft OneDrive from your documents
- Disable syncing iCloud from your documents
