Locate and Preview a Groove
Open BFD3 as a plugin inside your DAW or as a standalone application.
Navigate to the Grooves tab in the top navigation bar.
Use the Groove Browser to browse through available groove libraries, styles, and time signatures.
Click on a groove to preview it using the transport controls above the Groove Browser.
Export the Groove as MIDI
Once you’ve found a groove you'd like to use, simply click and drag the groove from the Groove Browser directly into your DAW timeline.
This action will automatically create a new MIDI region in your DAW, populated with the selected groove’s MIDI data.
You can drag the groove to any MIDI or instrument track compatible with BFD3 or another drum sampler.
Playback the MIDI Groove into Your DAW
If the drag-and-drop action was successful, the MIDI region should now appear in your DAW’s arrangement view.
Ensure that the MIDI region is assigned to a track with BFD3 or your desired drum plugin loaded.
Press play to confirm that the groove plays back correctly.
Note, if your track has 'record arm' enabled, the groove will not playback. To solve this, disable record arm against the instrument rack.
