Overview
The default Surge MIDI mapping in BFD3 may not properly trigger drum articulations.
The Surge SE key map from BFD Player has been verified to work correctly and can be imported into BFD3.
Download the Correct Surge Map
Download the working Surge SE key attached to this article below.
Import the Surge Map into BFD3
Launch BFD3.
Click File in the top menu.
Select Load Key Map.

Click Load Key Map from file...

Navigate to the downloaded Alesis Surge Mesh SE.bfd3map file.

Click Open.
The Surge mapping will now be applied.
Note that when you load the new key map, it may ask to overwrite the file, if you do so, the Alesis Surge Mesh SE file will appear as listed above. If you do not overwrite the keymap file, it will be listed as a keymap without a module icon.
Disable Automatic Key Map Loading
To ensure the imported map remains active:
Load your kit or preset.
Locate the Key Map section.
Disable automatic key map loading.
